Engr. Dr. Umar Mahmud P. E. is a software engineer who has 15+ years of experience as an instructor in the fields of computer science and software engineering. He has a PhD degree in computer science from FUI. He has an MS degree in Computer Software Engineering as well as a BE in Computer Software from NUST. His research area is Power Awareness, Context Awareness, IoT/IoE, and Software Design and Architecture. He has 20+ publications and his h-index and i-10 index are 10 and 11 respectively. He has written 2 technical books. He is a member of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). He also has 10+ patents filed in IPO Pakistan.
He is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Software Engineering, FUI. He has recently established a startup Futureaware Tech (http://futureaware.tech/) in 2022 that specializes in IoT, AI, ML, and web products.
